Prosecutors at the Corte dei conti allege that five former staff of the scratchcard concessionaire used their system access to find four winning tickets worth €24 million and had relatives and friends buy them. The claim is the State's, not the company's: prizes that chance might have left unclaimed would have stayed with the Treasury.
Brightstar Lottery has renewed the technology contract behind the lottery of Spain's national organisation of the blind, a relationship that dates back to 2002. The release calls it multi-year and stops there: no end date, no value, and a scope limited to software and the central system.

The Apollo-owned slot, systems and fintech supplier has replaced what its chief executive calls a "stuffy" corporate identity with one built around a "casino as a service" pitch. It arrives in the same fortnight as a new finance chief hired to sharpen cash flow.
With the reorganisation of betting shops, gaming halls and machines abandoned in August, the Ministry of Economy and Finance is looking at extending the licences that expire in December to the end of 2029 and collecting the fees, according to reports on the 2027 Budget. A €1 billion scratch-card tender is also in the mix.
Bondholders tendered 68% of the lottery group's 2028 notes and Brightstar will pay for them with a new €500 million issue priced last week at more than double the coupon. The €1.4 billion Italy Lotto instalment is why the balance sheet needed the room.
