  • US operator BetMGM has promoted Jarrod Schwarz from Chief Product Officer to the newly created and powerful role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
  • The key executive appointment is part of a wider organisational structure change designed to streamline operations as the company scales its sports betting and iGaming business.
  • Schwarz, a product veteran with experience at Disney (ESPN+) and eBay, will now oversee product, technology, trading, and customer operations for the leading US market operator.
  • The restructure also sees the creation of new, dedicated iGaming and Sports verticals and moves the strategy function under the CFO, Gary Deutsch.
  • The move comes as BetMGM is posting strong financial results and gaining market share in key states like Kansas.

A New COO for a New Phase of Growth

London, UK - 29th September 2025 - Leading US operator BetMGM has announced a significant organisational restructure, creating the new position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and promoting its long-serving Chief Product Officer, Jarrod Schwarz, to the role. This key executive appointment is a clear signal of the company’s evolution as it professionalises its structure to manage its rapid growth in the sports betting and iGaming markets.

In his new, expanded role, Schwarz will be responsible for overseeing the product, customer operations, technology, and trading functions across the entire business.

A Broader Organisational Restructure

This promotion is the centrepiece of a wider shake-up of the BetMGM organisational structure, designed to “streamline planning, enhance collaboration, and better integrate BetMGM’s strategic capabilities.” Other key changes include the recent establishment of two new, dedicated business verticals- iGaming, led by Oliver Bartlett, and Sports, led by Raymond Doyle. The company’s strategy and corporate development functions will now also fall under the Finance organisation, led by CFO Gary Deutsch.

An Experienced Leader for a Demanding Role

Jarrod Schwarz has been with BetMGM for nearly five years as its Chief Product Officer. Before joining the operator, he spent seven years at Disney, where he played an integral role in the launch of the ESPN+ streaming service.

Jarrod has been an integral part of our incredible team, building BetMGM into one of the most recognisable and successful brands in sports betting and iGaming,” said Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM. “ I’m confident that this change will ensure we continue to deliver exceptional products and experiences to our players.”

Building on a Position of Strength

This internal restructuring comes at a time of significant positive momentum for BetMGM. The company recently posted strong first-half financial results and boosted its full-year revenue forecast to at least $2.7 billion.

The operator is also making significant gains in the competitive US market. In July, BetMGM overtook FanDuel for the first time to become the second most popular sportsbook by handle in Kansas, a clear sign of its growing market share. The new organisational structure is a proactive move being made from a position of strength, designed to equip the business for its next phase of profitable growth.
