GAN is a B2B iGaming platform and B2C operator, headquartered in Irvine, California, supplying its GameSTACK player account management platform, simulated gaming (free-play) products and content to land-based casino operators launching online in the regulated American states, and running the Coolbet sportsbook and casino brand in Europe and Latin America. Founded in Britain in 2002 and formerly listed on Nasdaq, it was acquired by Japan's Sega Sammy Holdings in 2025 and now operates as that group's iGaming arm.
Coolbet has notified Estonia's Unemployment Insurance Fund of collective redundancies at its Tallinn headquarters, covering close to half of the staff at its Estonian company. The reason it gives points at the B2B platform business that Sega Sammy bought with GAN, not at the Coolbet sportsbook.
