Worldpay is one of the largest payment processors in the world, headquartered in London and Cincinnati, providing card acquiring and processing, alternative payment methods and payouts to merchants globally, with a dedicated gambling and gaming practice serving licensed operators in Britain, Europe, the regulated American states and other markets. Separated from FIS in 2024 under majority ownership by GTCR, and agreed to be acquired by Global Payments in 2025, it processes tens of billions of transactions a year.

Attorney General James Uthmeier has gone after the operators and the payment rails in the same action, naming Worldpay, Trustly, Praxis and Breeze Labs alongside Stake and VGW. Suing the processors is the part the rest of the industry should be reading.
