Wplay

Wplay is a Colombian online betting and casino operator owned by the gaming machine group Aquila Global Group and based in Medellín. It holds the distinction of being the first licensed online gambling operator in Latin America. Colombia introduced its online framework in 2016 and Coljuegos awarded the first licence, contract C1422, to Aquila Global Group in June 2017 for the Wplay.co brand. That made Colombia the first country in the region to run a full online licensing regime, several years ahead of Peru, Brazil and Argentina's provincial systems, and Wplay the reference case for how a domestic operator can hold share against international entrants that followed.
