One month to go: Casino Guru Awards 2026 enters final countdown

Liam O'BrienBy Liam O'Brien · Contributor1 min read

A different kind of industry recognition

At the heart of the Awards is [Casino Guru](/directory/casino-guru)’s long-term mission: to make the online gambling space safer for players worldwide. Winners are selected based on a combination of data-driven evaluation and expert assessment, drawing from the platform’s extensive database, including its Safety Index and Complaint Resolution Center.

With nominations closed and shortlists finalized, the Casino Guru team is now conducting final evaluations. This stage involves a deep dive into each nominee’s track record, including detailed discussions with judges and shortlisted candidates to better understand the impact and substance behind each nomination.

At the same time, the Player’s Choice and Voice of the People categories remain open for public voting, giving the wider community an opportunity to have their say.

More than just an award

“The Casino Guru Awards are not about who is the biggest or most visible,” said Daniela Sliva, PR & Creative Projects Director from Casino Guru. “They are about who is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”

Over the years, the Awards have gained recognition across the industry for their integrity and independence, helping set higher standards and encouraging operators to prioritize player well-being.

Save the date

The winners of the Casino Guru Awards 2026 will be announced on May 25 at Xara Lodge in [Malta](/countries/malta), just ahead of the NEXT Valletta conference. The event is designed not only for operators, but for all brands and individuals committed to pushing the industry forward.

With around 150 guests expected, attendees can look forward to more than just the awards announcement, including high-quality entertainment, valuable networking opportunities, exceptional food, and an afterparty to close the evening.

As the countdown begins, all eyes are now on the companies and individuals shaping a more transparent and accountable future for online gaming.

Why This Matters

iGaming Times analysis: Industry awards function as visibility markers for player-protection initiatives that don't otherwise generate news cycles — problem-gambling tools, complaint-resolution outcomes, fair-play reviews. The award shortlists are worth watching as a leading indicator of which operators are investing in the responsible-gambling stack at a level that goes beyond compliance minimums.
