Slovakia opened competitive online licensing on 1 March 2019 under Act 30/2019, ending TIPOS's online monopoly. The ÚRHH was created in 2019. Licences are available to EU/EEA operators, and the regulator operates a self-exclusion register (RVHČ). Tax regime was adjusted in 2023 increasing land-based rates.
