Washington is regulated by the Washington State Gambling Commission, a long-established agency with an online licensing account system for its licensees and a published schedule of public commission meetings. Washington has a reputation as one of the more restrictive American states on remote gambling, and the reputation rests on statute rather than on regulatory practice: state law has treated online gambling with unusual severity compared with its neighbours, and the commission has enforced against unlicensed supply rather than seeking to license it.
