Interswitch

Interswitch is an African digital payments and commerce company founded in 2002, which built much of Nigeria's early electronic payments infrastructure with products including Paydirect, Webpay and Autopay. It led Nigeria's migration to EMV card standards, launched the Quickteller platform and created Verve, a domestic EMV payment card scheme that later began international transactions on the Discover network. The company has worked with the central banks of Gambia and Sierra Leone on national switches, including GamSwitch in Gambia, acquired the mobile and security services provider VANSO, and launched an interoperable QR payments platform. Its current businesses span transaction processing, remittance, agent networks, an API marketplace for developers, and services for real estate, energy, healthcare, mobility and public services, alongside tools for small businesses and larger organisations.
