Interwetten is a sports betting and casino operator founded in Vienna in 1990 and based in Malta since 2005. It was one of the earliest European online bookmakers and is a founding member of the European Gaming and Betting Association. It has been licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority since 2005 and has completed licensing processes in Italy, Spain, Ireland and Sweden. In Germany it held an early Schleswig-Holstein licence and was granted a national concession for online sports betting in November 2020, ahead of the fourth State Treaty on Gambling that created the current federal regime. Its sportsbook covers more than 70 sports.
