Tipico

Tipico is the largest sports betting operator in Germany, founded in Malta in 2004 by Dieter Pawlik, Oliver Voigt and Mladen Pavlovic and headquartered at Tipico Tower in St Julian's. It holds a German sports betting concession issued by the Darmstadt Regional Council alongside licences from the Malta Gaming Authority. The company reports a German market share above 50%, which makes it the dominant licensed operator in Europe's largest regulated sports betting market and one of the largest bookmakers worldwide. Its retail arm runs as a franchise system of more than 1,250 betting shops across Germany and Austria, and the group has offices in Germany, Austria, Croatia, Gibraltar, Colombia and the United States. It employs more than 1,800 people directly, with around 6,000 more across the franchise network.
