Stanleybet Group

Stanleybet Group is a sports betting and gaming operator headquartered in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Stanley was established in Belfast in 1958, moved its headquarters to Liverpool in 1979 and listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1986 as Stanley Leisure Plc. After Stanley Leisure was sold to Genting in 2006, Giovanni Garrisi bought out the Stanleybet Group and became its sole owner and chief executive. The group says it has more than 2,000 outlets and 3,000 staff, with country operations in Italy, Malta and Belgium, and a B2B division, Magellan Robotech, which develops virtual games and gaming solutions. Stanleybet Belgium SA holds F1 and F1+ betting licences from the Belgian Gaming Commission. The group is known for the European Court of Justice cases Gambelli, Placanica and Costa and Cifone on cross-border betting.
