Global gaming supplier Light & Wonder has announced a significant new executive appointment, naming former Aristocrat veteran Rohan Gallagher to the newly created and powerful role of EVP and Global Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.
In this new position, Rohan Gallagher will be responsible for a wide-ranging brief that includes the company’s global communications, investor relations (IR), Environmental, Social, and Governance ( ESG), and Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) initiatives. The hire is a clear move by Light & Wonder to bolster its senior leadership team and corporate strategy.
The timing of Rohan Gallagher’s appointment is critical. It comes as Light & Wonder is in the final stages of a major corporate shift: its delisting from the Nasdaq and the consolidation of its primary stock market listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), which is expected to be completed by the end of November.
Light & Wonder CFO Oliver Chow stated that Gallagher’s background makes him a perfect fit for this pivotal moment. “As Light & Wonder transitions to a sole listing on the ASX, having Rohan’s wealth of experience and leadership in corporate affairs will be instrumental for us, both in the Australian market and across the world,” Chow said. “His knowledge of the gaming industry and what it takes to succeed are unparalleled.”
Rohan Gallagher joins Light & Wonder with a deep and relevant background in both the gaming industry and high-level finance. He most recently served as a managing director at Jarden Group.
Crucially, he spent approximately four years at rival gaming supplier Aristocrat, where he was the General Manager of Investor Relations and Treasury. This direct experience within a major, ASX-listed competitor will be invaluable to Light & Wonder. His career also includes over a decade as a managing director at Credit Suisse Australia.
“This is a pivotal moment for Light & Wonder,” Gallagher commented. “I look forward to amplifying Light & Wonder’s voice, strengthening connections with its communities, and driving meaningful change that supports L&W’s next level of growth.”
The appointment of Rohan Gallagher is a clear statement of intent from Light & Wonder. By hiring a respected gaming industry veteran with a strong background in investor relations away from a key rival, the company is demonstrating its serious commitment to a successful transition to the ASX and a new chapter of its corporate affairs strategy.
