Cambodia's casino industry peaked at 50+ licensed casinos in Sihanoukville. Prime-ministerial directive in August 2019 banned online gambling effective 1 January 2020, triggering mass operator exits. The Law on Management of Commercial Gambling (Law NS/RKM/1120/022) came into force November 2020, establishing the CGMC.
