The Senate approved the bill in general in August 2025, the Executive attached maximum urgency on 7 May 2026, and in June 2026 the Senate Economy Commission agreed with the Executive to convene a technical working group and reopen the period for amendments. Not enacted at the date of review.
- What it changes
- Would create a general operating licence for online betting platforms, require licensees to incorporate in Chile as closed corporations, and convert the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego into a Superintendencia de Casinos, Apuestas y Juegos de Azar with power to grant licences, supervise technical compliance and obtain remote real-time access to platforms. Reporting puts the headline tax at 20 per cent of gross income, with an additional earmarked percentage whose size and destination are reported inconsistently.
