The board publishes it in English, Ndebele, Tonga, Venda and Shona, which is a serious commitment to reaching players in the languages they actually use and is more than most regulators anywhere attempt. Alongside it the board runs a corporate social responsibility and community development programme, framed around strategic social investment rather than the harm-prevention framing a European regulator would lead with. This profile records the board and its published functions and leaves the substantive detail as honest gaps. Vertical status beyond the fact that it licenses operators, licence types, fees, tax treatment, advertising rules and compliance obligations have not yet been verified against primary sources. The position on remote gambling specifically is not asserted here, and readers should not infer it from the presence of a licensing board: across sub-Saharan Africa the mobile-led betting market has frequently grown faster than the statutory framework describing it, and the gap between the two is exactly what a jurisdiction profile needs to establish carefully rather than assume.

Gamble Pause Initiative Africa, Gamble Aware Nigeria and the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation have formed the ARGN, with participants from nine more countries, to build a continent-wide evidence base on gambling harm.
