- Advertising permitted
- No
- Affiliate rules
- Affiliates are not separately licensed. Affiliate promotion beyond the bare name, trademark and legal form falls within the general prohibition, and the Authority publishes a maintained list of illegal online operators alongside the list of permitted ones.
- Sponsorship rules
- Sports sponsorship and advertising around broadcasts of sports competitions sit under a transitional arrangement reported to run until 1 January 2028, after which the general prohibition applies to them as well.
- Celebrity and influencer rules
- Because only the name, trademark and legal form may be communicated, there is no scope for celebrity or influencer endorsement of a licensed operator.
- Social media rules
- Online and social media promotion is subject to the same prohibition, limited to the name, trademark and legal form of the operator.
- Bonus advertising rules
- Bonuses, discounts, free or test play and gift giveaways are prohibited as promotional practices, not merely restricted in how they may be advertised.
- Penalties for breach
- The Gaming Control Authority enforces the prohibition and can impose fines on operators and on those who publish the advertising, and can act against the licence and the separate remote gambling permission.
