Michigan Lottery

Michigan Lottery

The Michigan Lottery is the state lottery of Michigan, headquartered in Lansing. Following a ballot referendum in May 1972 it was established by Public Act 239 of 1972, the Lottery Act, and it began selling tickets in November 1972 with its first game, The Green Ticket. Lottery profits go to the state School Aid Fund, which supports public education; the Lottery reported contributions of more than $26 billion by its 50th anniversary in 2022, and a record contribution of $1.419 billion in fiscal 2021 on sales of more than $5 billion. Its products include instant tickets, daily draw games, multi-state games such as Mega Millions and Powerball, raffles and pull-tabs. In August 2014 it launched iLottery, allowing players to buy and play Lottery games online.
