FanDuel Merger Defendants Ordered to Submit Withheld Legal Advice for Review

The former FanDuel shareholders suing KKR, Shamrock and FanDuel's old board over the 2018 Paddy Power Betfair merger have won a route into legal advice the defendants withheld as privileged. The order decides nothing about the merits, but it reaches the documents most likely to show how a $465.5 million valuation was set.

Louisiana Gives DraftKings a Four-Month Extension, Not a Renewal, Over AI and Shareholder Suitability

Louisiana's gaming regulator has pushed DraftKings' permit renewal to February while state police finish checking shareholders who hold 5% or more and the board examines reports about how the operator uses artificial intelligence. The chairman said the decision is not a finding of wrongdoing, but it is the first licensing decision in iGaming Times' coverage to turn on the AI reports.

Federal Magistrate Recommends Sending Kentucky's Polymarket and Kalshi Suits Back to State Court

A magistrate judge has recommended that Kentucky's gambling suit against Polymarket go back to the state court where it was filed, leaning on the Sixth Circuit's September ruling against Kalshi, and the same is reported in the Kalshi case. If the district judges agree, a Kentucky judge will hear the state's claims for injunctions, penalties and treble damages.

Google Bars Prediction Market Ads in Connecticut, the Fifth US State It Has Shut Out

Google has added Connecticut to the US states where certified prediction markets may not advertise, the fifth exclusion since it opened the category in January, and has written a pointer to its prediction market rules into the main body of its gambling policy. Each of Google's notices has taken effect the day it was posted, and none gives a reason.

Underdog Sues Tennessee in the Court Whose Kalshi Injunction the Sixth Circuit Threw Out

Underdog's exchange and brokerage arms filed a federal suit in Nashville on Tuesday against Tennessee's attorney general and the officials of its Sports Wagering Council, four days after a letter to "Mr. Levine". It is the seventh state Underdog has taken to court, and the first suit it has filed where a binding appeals ruling already rejects the argument it relies on.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control has designated Club La Molienda, a horse racetrack on the edge of Nuevo Laredo that Treasury says shared a betting arrangement with Casino Centenario, the casino it accused in April of serving as a drug stash house and a place where the cartel tortured its enemies. It is the second US action in six months to put a Mexican gambling venue on the sanctions list.

Wyoming Committee Backs Felony Ban on Online Sweepstakes Casinos for 2027 Session

Wyoming's Select Committee on Gaming has voted to back a draft bill that would make running an online sweepstakes casino, or knowingly supplying one with payments, geolocation or game content, a felony. Its definition of sweepstakes currency is wider than California's, but the bill still needs a sponsor the committee may not be able to supply itself.

The State Department's 2026 Trafficking in Persons Report says senior Cambodian officials benefited from and protected scam compounds, that no scam centre trafficker was prosecuted, and that casinos with a documented history of hosting scam centres were licensed in January. It lands as Cambodia sends inspectors into casinos to enforce its online gambling ban.

US States Spent $145m of the $188m Set Aside for Problem Gambling Services in FY2025

US states spent about $145 million of the $188 million they allocated to problem gambling services in FY2025, and 48% of funded states spent at least 5% less than their budgets, according to the national association of state administrators. The share has barely moved since FY2023, which makes it a capacity problem rather than a one-off.

CFTC Carves Licensed Sportsbooks Out of the Swap Definition and Proposes to Write Event Contracts In

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has published the two rules it sent to the White House last month: one, in force the day it appears in the Federal Register, says a bet with a licensed sportsbook or casino is not a swap; the other proposes that event contracts, sports included, are. The line runs through who sells the product and where it trades, not what it is.
