Kangwon Land

Kangwon Land is the operator of the only casino in South Korea open to Korean nationals, located in the mountain town of Sabuk in Gangwon province, established in 2000 under special legislation to redevelop a former coal-mining region. Listed in Seoul and majority-owned by public bodies, it runs the casino, hotels, a ski resort and golf under regulatory limits on table numbers, opening hours and local residents' visits, and is subject to South Korea's strict gambling controls. It is the largest single casino by revenue in the country.
