Curaçao Gaming Authority

Curaçao Gaming Authority

The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) is the regulator created under Curaçao's National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK), in force since 24 December 2024, which replaced the island's master and sub-licence system with direct B2C and B2B licensing. It assesses fit-and-proper status, requires local substance from licensees, supervises anti-money-laundering and responsible-gambling compliance, maintains a public register of licensees and can suspend and revoke licences, bringing supervision to a jurisdiction that previously had almost none.

Curaçao Gaming Authority Activates New National Ordinance on Games of Chance, Tightening Offshore Licensing Framework

Curaçao's sweeping legislative overhaul of its online gaming sector came into force on 24 December 2024, replacing decades-old offshore hazard rules with the new Landsverordening op de Kansspelen and elevating the Curaçao Gaming Authority to a more independent regulatory footing. For the thousands of operators licensed through the jurisdiction, the transition marks the start of a stricter compliance era.
