iGaming Ontario is the agency established in July 2021 to conduct and manage internet gaming in Ontario provided through private operators, in accordance with the Criminal Code of Canada, the Gaming Control Act, the iGaming Ontario Act and the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming. Private operators must register with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the provincial regulator, and sign an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario before offering games to players in the province. iGaming Ontario executes and oversees those agreements, reconciles igaming revenues on behalf of the province, provides market insights, implements responsible gambling requirements, runs an anti money laundering programme and operates a dispute resolution process for customers. Its board of directors reports to Ontario's Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. It does not manage the igaming offering of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
