Groupe Barrière
Groupe Barrière is France's leading casino operator, founded in 1912 by François André and headquartered in Paris. It has remained under family stewardship through Lucien Barrière, Diane Barrière-Desseigne and Dominique Desseigne. The group runs 33 Casinos Barrière alongside 16 Hôtels Barrière, a majority of them five-star, and more than 120 restaurants and bars including Fouquet's in Paris. Its model pairs regulated land-based casino gaming with luxury hospitality, which is characteristic of the French market: online casino games remain prohibited in France, so the ANJ licences only sports betting, horse race betting and poker, and the casino estate stays land-based.
