Spelinspektionen is the Swedish Gambling Authority, based in Strängnäs, which licenses and supervises gambling under the Gambling Act that opened the Swedish market on 1 January 2019, covering online casino and betting, land-based casinos, lotteries and B2B suppliers licensed since 2023. It operates the Spelpaus national self-exclusion register, enforces the one-bonus rule, the duty of care and, from April 2026, the ban on gambling with credit, fines licensees for breaches and blocks unlicensed operators.
