Sweden's plan for the EU anti-money laundering package would let the regulator fine a gambling licensee up to 10% of turnover, measured where applicable at group level. The online operators' trade body says that base is disproportionate and risks double punishment.

Sweden's gambling regulator has barred the company behind Duel.com with immediate effect. The operator had said it would keep offering Swedish, and the block on Swedish users it described was not in place when the regulator checked.

Spelinspektionen's preliminary Q2 figures put licensed turnover at SEK7.4bn. The headline growth rate understates what is happening in the commercial online segment, which grew at above 7%.
