The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is the regulator of gaming in Malta, established in 2001 and operating under the Gaming Act of 2018, licensing B2C gaming service and B2B critical gaming supply licensees that serve markets across Europe and beyond from Malta. It assesses fit-and-proper status, approves key functions, audits systems, supervises anti-money-laundering compliance jointly with Malta's financial intelligence unit, runs the national self-exclusion register for its licensees and publishes enforcement actions. It is the largest EU gaming licensing authority by number of online licensees.
