DraftKings and FanDuel supplied most of a campaign that raised nearly $22.5 million, and unofficial returns leave Measures 440 and 441 nine to 10 points behind. Three Indiana counties refused a casino the same night, and two Virginia wagering questions were trailing.

Three New Orleans bettors, two of them heavy parlay players, have asked a Louisiana court to treat the FanDuel and DraftKings apps as defective products. The petition also names the two casinos whose licences the apps operate under, a choice that may keep the case out of federal court.

DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics have pulled sports contracts from Utah since the state charged Kalshi and its founders, and Fanatics is leaving altogether. The federal bid to stop the prosecution goes before the judge who has already ruled that Utah's gambling laws apply to Kalshi.

Days after tightening its sportsbook menu, the NBA has signed up Kalshi and Polymarket as preferred exchanges and DraftKings as an authorised operator. The memorandum it signed with the federal regulator alongside them is a statement of intent, and says so.

Kalshi has started listing contracts on industry-wide indices of card spending, point-of-sale sales and app downloads, all settled on figures from the data company Carbon Arc. The same vendor already settles Kalshi markets on sportsbook and casino advertising and on DraftKings and FanDuel downloads, and its numbers appear to sit outside the test the SEC used on 13 October to class Cboe's KPI options as securities.

A Citrin-POLITICO poll finds 50% of registered voters in favour of legal sports betting at tribal casinos, four years after a tribal in-person measure won 33% of the vote. Online betting still trails 37% to 50%, which is the part California's tribes now have to win in 2028.

The state's largest casino took $46.1 million from its tables and slots in September, its weakest month since the pandemic, while more than 1,300 workers picketed outside. The regulator's statewide total also carries an MGM Springfield figure that matches August's to the cent.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has opened a false-certification proceeding against two ProphetX contracts on whether an NFL game produces a never-before-seen final score, and stayed them before they traded. It is the first stay of a sports event contract on the CFTC's 2026 filings record, and it turns on the same "economic consequence" test the agency says sports contracts pass.

Three Democrats who have spent since August questioning FanDuel's VIP programme have now asked DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, Kalshi and Polymarket to say how much their top customers lost before and after they were enrolled. The letters are requests, not findings, and the companies have until 5 November to answer.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission has told every sportsbook, supplier, integrity monitor and testing laboratory it licenses to stop providing services "of any kind" to platforms offering sports event contracts in Ohio, or face reopened suitability investigations. With its cease-and-desist letters to the exchanges now challenged in court, Ohio is turning to the companies that keep them running.

Polymarket's US exchange went to federal court in Columbus on the day Ohio's cease-and-desist deadline expired, leading with a constitutional claim the Sixth Circuit has not decided. Governor Mike DeWine says the state will now file suits of its own.

The league has used its commercial agreements, not a state rule, to strip out the bet types at the centre of the Jontay Porter and Terry Rozier cases before the 2026-27 season. Prediction markets, where it has no agreements, are untouched.

Louisiana's gaming regulator has pushed DraftKings' permit renewal to February while state police finish checking shareholders who hold 5% or more and the board examines reports about how the operator uses artificial intelligence. The chairman said the decision is not a finding of wrongdoing, but it is the first licensing decision in iGaming Times' coverage to turn on the AI reports.

Alberta's window for grey-market operators to move into the regulated market closed on 13 October, and published counts of who made it range from 29 to 51. The regulator registers companies, the Crown corporation approves sites, and the two official lists do not match.

The Federal Trade Commission has begun an early-stage review of online sportsbooks such as FanDuel and DraftKings, The Washington Sun reported, citing three sources. Nothing is on the record yet: DraftKings says it has had no civil investigative demand and the agency declined to comment.

The leagues' new campaign with the National Council on Problem Gambling tells fans that trading on a prediction market puts their money at risk just as a sports bet does, weeks after the NBA was reported to be close to its first prediction-market deals. The release names no budget, no creative and no start date.

New York's Gaming Commission has proposed barring every gambling licensee in the state, not only sportsbooks, from using AI to tailor offers or suggest bets, and presuming any personalised offer unlawful. A second rule would make mobile sportsbooks flag, contact and if necessary close the accounts of at-risk bettors.

DraftKings and FanDuel gave $3.5 million each in the latest reporting period, taking Tax Relief Nebraska's fundraising to $14.65 million for two online sports betting measures on the 3 November ballot. The committee registered to oppose them had reported nothing raised or spent by the same date, on Ballotpedia's count.

The tribe that holds Florida's sports betting monopoly wants a Broward County court to shut down DraftKings' prediction-market sports tab and its Pick6 game, and accuses chief executive Jason Robins personally of racketeering. It is suing under state law, in state court, where DraftKings' federal preemption defence has to be won rather than assumed.

Illinois casinos took $178.2 million in September, up 12.7% on a year earlier, and 14 of the state's 17 properties grew. Penn's new land-based Aurora casino supplied about a third of the increase; the rest came from players spending more per visit, not from more visits.

Maine's gambling regulator now says the first quarter of 2027 is the more practical target for online casino, and the state has told a federal court its rules cannot take effect before 25 November. Between now and launch sit a legality review, six hires, a licensing portal still to be launched and a constitutional challenge still waiting for a ruling.

Three Democrats want copies of every personalised athlete and entertainer video FanDuel has sent to VIP customers, and for each one, how much the recipient had lost and why the host chose them. FanDuel told them in September that it has no plans to suspend or end its VIP programme.

Alex Frost, who led the racehorse owners' purchase of the Tote from Betfred in 2019, will hand over to former GiG and DraftKings executive James Coxon at the end of 2026. In the same announcement the Tote is closing its online gaming and cutting back a consumer digital business that its latest accounts show made an EBITDA loss of £11.9 million.

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, who praised a Liberal plan to license every online gambling site in Quebec, will lead the province with 59 of 127 seats. His party's budget plan books CA$300 million a year from sports betting sites, but a campaign endorsement is not a bill.
