Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland

Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) is Ireland's gambling regulator, established in March 2025 under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 to replace a licensing patchwork dating from 1931 and 1956, with a licensing regime for betting, gaming and lotteries, online and land-based, phased in from 2026. Its remit includes a national exclusion register, a ban on gambling with credit cards, an advertising watershed, powers over advertising volume and content, a social impact fund financed by a levy, and B2B supplier licensing.
